- The Stampeders are coming into this game with a 1-0 record this season and they are coming off of a 38-26 win against the Ti-Cats in their last game. That was their 1st game of the season and was also their home opener, but the offense was humming as they scored 38 points and had a big game both on the ground and through the air. The Stampeders were one of the worst teams in the league last season, but they have made some big improvements this season, including a change at QB. Their defense has not improved much though as they were allowing a lot of points last season and continued that into this year by allowing 26 points at home in that 1st game of the season. They are going up against an Argos team that is 0-1 this season and they are coming off of a 28-10 loss against the Alouettes in their last game. The Argos had no run game in that one and had to rely a lot on Arbuckle who was not great, but that was also a very bad spot for the Argos. The Alouettes were one of the best teams in the league last season and still are this year with a great defense that does not allow many points so that was always going to be a tough game on the road in the 1st game of the season considering how the Argos kicked the Alouettes out of the playoffs last year. The Argos are going to be hungry to bounce back here in their home opener and Arbuckle is going to have a much better game at home against this much weaker defense as well. Arbuckle has shown he can perform well as he did in the Grey Cup last year so he is going to move the ball in this defense, but the Stampeders will be able to as well. Between these two sides, there will be enough points in this game to push it over the total.
