- The Devils are coming into this game down 3-1 in the series and they blew their chance to tie this series at home with a very bad start in the last game. They were trailing in that game right from the 1st minute and were always playing catch up. Now they have to get a win on the road here to extend this series, but the Hurricanes have been a much better team at home all season and they are going to be hungry to end this series. This has been a low scoring series so far, but the Hurricanes have been scoring goals and are now coming off of a 5-2 win on the road in their last game. The Hurricanes will come out strong in this game again as they want to play with a lead and put the Devils in a difficult spot facing elimination here, but the Devils are not going to just lay down and die with their season on the line here. Their offense has been much better in their last 2 games compared to the first 2 games of this series, scoring 5 goals total in their last 2 games. They also showed some fight in the last game as they were down early and eventually got down 3-0, but they fought back to make it a 3-2 game before running out of gas and letting the Hurricanes come away with it. The Devils are going to be pushing hard to take a lead in this game and if they do fall behind against a superior Hurricanes team, they will have no choice but to take some risks and push their offense harder to score. The Devils are also facing elimination in this game so they are going to get up to keep their season alive and if they are behind by a goal or 2 late, they will have to pull their goalie early which increases the chance of late goals in this game. Between these two sides, there will be enough goals in this game to push it over the total.
