Washington State vs Wisconsin Prediction

The current betting odds have Wisconsin as a 17.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Both of these teams played FCS teams in their season openers and both teams came away with wins in their games, but in 2 very different ways. Wisconsin was very dominant in their win 38-0 with their offense looking great in that game and their defense really showing why it will be one of the best in the Big Ten this season. They are going to feed off of that shutout win and will be fired up to play an FBS team here at home. WSU also came away with a win last week but they didn't look very good in their game as they struggled to pull away against Idaho and only squeaked away with a 7 point win, scoring just 24 points in the game. Their offense moved the ball well in that game but just didn't convert on their chances, now they are going to have a whole new problem of struggling to even move the ball upfield. Wisconsin's defense will come to play against this bad offense knowing that it has a possibility of posting another shutout here. Wisconsin also has a good enough offense themselves to move the ball and score points here. They will be able to keep WSU from scoring a lot in this game and they will be able to grow their lead throughout the game. The best way to place a bet here is on Wisconsin to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“Our guys played hard, but there is a toughness, there is a mental fortitude, there is a strain and a push that we fell short on. I love that our guys were a little disappointed coming in this morning. But we’ve flushed it, we cleared it. We gotta be more physical. We gotta be tougher.” - Jake Dickert on his team’s win against Idaho in their last game.

"There was a lot of times where I thought he did. Protection was good. We had the one in the red zone where they got us. And yet I thought the protection was good. And I thought he was — I thought he saw things pretty well. I thought, you know, a number of guys got involved. That part was good." - Paul Chryst on the way Graham Mertz played in their last game against Illinois State.
