UTSA vs Texas Prediction

The current betting odds have Texas listed as a 35 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Texas has looked really good in their games this season with their 2-0 record overall. They went to the college football playoff last season and lost in the Sugar Bowl to Washington, but they have picked up right where they left off last season. This is their 1st year in the SEC and they have a real chance to make the playoffs again, even if they don't win the conference. They looked great in their season opener against Colorado State, winning 52-0 at home, and they looked great last week in their road win, beating defending National Champions Michigan in their own house 31-12. Texas is coming back home now but they aren't going to go easy in this game. Meanwhile, UTSA hasn't looked great in their games this season with their 1-1 record overall and they are coming off a blow out loss too. They just lost 49-10 to Texas State on the road last week and now they are on the road again against a much stronger opponent. UTSA also lost a lot of players from their team last season and don't have nearly as much talent this year. UTSA won't put up much of a fight against this improved Texas defense. The best way to place a bet here is on Texas to cover the spread in this game.

UTSA Texas Prediction:  Our NCAAF Pick for Saturday, September 14, 2024 (7:00 pm ET start time) is Texas 56 UTSA 7.

Notable Quotes

“You’re not always going to have the best team or the most experienced team. So you're going to get your teeth kicked in a few times before you get it all fixed. And you know, I've chosen to stay at UTSA, and we’ve been here five years now. And our team has had a lot of turnover this last year.” - Jeff Traylor on his team this season.

“This one game isn’t going to define our season, but I think it would serve as a pretty good barometer of the type of team that we could be.” - Steve Sarkisian after his team’s win against Michigan in their last game.
