The team has gone through alternating wins and losses in the last 7 games he has started in. He has not allowed less than 3 runs in any of his last 5 starts and he was absolutely rocked in his last time out on the mound. He allowed 7 runs on 8 hits in just 2 IP and has now been credited with 2 losses in a row in games there was a decision. He has also seen the Rangers lineup 4 times this year and the team is 2-2 in those games, he allowed exactly 3 runs in all but one of those games where he allowed 2. The A's offense has only put up 11 runs in their last 3 games averaging a little under 4 runs scored per game. They may need to wake up a bit more depending on which Irvin shows up on Saturday.

Both of these pitchers have been trash in recent games and pretty much the whole season but the A's have a slight advantage in that department. The Rangers have been hitting very well though scoring a lot more than the A's. Oakland did face some good pitching in the last series and might be able to do more in this game. With these two pitchers starting the value in this game is on the over.

Oakland Athletics: Matt Olson is one player to watch in this game. He leads his team in hits, HRs, and in RBI and he will be facing a pitcher that has been struggling all year. With the playoffs lurking just around the corner this is his time to start heating up and help his team get into a playoff spot.
