Notre Dame versus Wake Forest is an all-time matchup… depending on the year and roster.  This year and these rosters look pretty good for both.  Neither are world beaters, but they both are tough and mowing down opponents for the most part.  They are really really ridiculously close in strengths and weaknesses.  We will need a deep dive into which team has the numbers to cover or beat the spread.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are on a five-game winning streak.  Beating Boston College, Clemson, Louisville, North Carolina State, and Miami.  They went 3-2 ATS during that stretch.  Over their last ten games they have won 9 games… a pretty great mark.  They went 6-4 ATS.  The only team to beat them during the stretch was the Duke Blue Devils in a ridiculously low scoring game that hit the UNDER with 55 points to spare.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons lost their last game to the Duke Blue Devils… it was a much higher scoring affair and much closer with the Final score Duke 76 - Wake 74… but before you go thinking Wake has the advantage in comparable matchups… remember Wake lost the game before to the same Miami team that Notre Dame beat MIA 76 - Wake 72.  Wake has won 7 of their last 10 games… losing to Duke, Miami, and oddly to Syracuse.  It is not hard to say that Wake is inconsistent… even with a winning record.

Notre Dame has the defense and ball control to handle Wake.  This is an underdog pick so you will have the 5.5 points in your pocket if you think it will be a closer game than I do.
