Missouri vs Kansas State Prediction
The current betting odds have Missouri listed as an 7.5 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Missouri is in their 3rd year with head coach Eli Drinkwitz but they have made a lot of improvements under him and looked a lot better in their season opener against LA Tech. They dominated LA Tech at home through the air and on the ground as they put up a lot of points on that bad defense. KSU also had a very dominant shutout win in their home opener last week and they get the luxury of being at home again for this game here, but KSU played an FCS team in their first game while Missouri played an FBS team, and KSU didn't look that great in their game. They were very dominant on the ground as they ran all over South Dakota but their passing game was almost non-existent as they had right around 50 yards total for passing offense in that game, and their QB only attempted 15 passes as well. That was not a game where they really needed to do much through the air to win but they will need a good passing offense here against Missouri as Mizzou can put up the points in their game. Missouri has made big strides in their program over the years and they are not going to just get blown out by a team like KSU who really hasn't been that successful over the past years. Missouri will keep this a closer game. The best way to place a bet here is on Missouri to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes
"There's a lot of room for growth after watching the film, in all phases of the game. Specifically on special teams and punt coverage, (it) was not nearly good enough or efficient enough...Defensively, we've got to eliminate explosive plays. Great job stopping the run but we can't give up explosive plays for touchdowns." - Eli Drinkwitz after his team’s win against LA Tech.
“Really do a nice job running the football. They've got a kind of a wide zone or stretch run game and some counter that is really effective, really good guys up front, a number of backs that can sprinkle in and then very dynamic at the wide receiver position. Guys that can hit homeruns whether it's through the vertical passing game or jet sweeps or just getting the ball out in space. They do a lot of things. It's going to be a big challenge for us.” - Chris Klieman on Missouri’s offense coming into this game.
