Blue Raiders vs Hokies Prediction

The Middle Tennessee ST Blue Raiders are sitting in 2nd place of the C-USA East with a 1-0 record. They won their first college football game of the NCAA regular season schedule against Monmouth 50-15. Bailey Hockman played in a good game in their season opener completing 17/22 passes for 215 yards and 3 touchdowns. Frank Peasant led the team in rushing with 27 yards but overall their run game was very weak in that one. Chaton Mobley and Martell Pettaway did find the end zone on the ground though. Jaylin Lane led the receivers with 91 yards and 1 touchdown on 4 receptions. CJ Windham and DJ Chisolm also found the end zone through the air in that one. Decorian Patterson led their defense with 6 solo tackles and 2 assisted ones. Marley Cook, Tra Fluellen, and Jordan Ferguson all recorded 1 sack each in the game and it was Teldrick Ross who came away with the interception for them.

The Virginia Tech Hokies are sitting in 1st place of the ACC Coastal conference with a 1-0 record. They won the first of their matchups of the season against UNC 17-10. Braxton Burmeister was the only quarterback to play for them in that last game and he completed 12/19 passes for 169 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Jalen Holston led the team in rushing yards with 49 on 13 carries but other than that they did not have much of a run game. Burmeister scored the only touchdown on the ground for them. Raheem Blackshear led the team in receiving yards with 66 on 3 receptions and Tre Turner was not far behind him with 64 yards receiving on 4 catches. It was James Mitchell who ended up finding the end zone through the air for them. Chamarri Conner led the defense with 6 solo tackles, 2 assists, and 1 interception. TyJuan Garbutt led the team in sacks with 2. Jermaine Waller and Dax Hollifield both came away with interceptions as well.

The bookmaker has the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders football team as a big underdog in this game. Both of these teams are much stronger on defense than they are with their offense and both seem to lack a strong running game being very pass heavy. The Hokies are the better team here but it is hard to see them putting up a ton of points in this game, especially against a pretty good defense. This will likely be a low scoring game that stays under the total and that Middle Tennessee State University covers in as the Hokies will not blow them out completely. Either college football pick would be a good wager for bettors in this game.

Players to Watch

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders: Bailey Hockman is one player to watch in their next game schedule as he put up some good stats in the last one. He will have to continue that into this game on the road if they want a chance at beating a good Hokies team. The run game was pretty bad so there will be lots of pressure on him to make the plays in the passing game.

Virginia Tech Hokies: Braxton Burmeister is one player to watch in this as he will want to carry over his good play especially in his home games. They did not have much of a run game in their last so pressure will be on him to make plays down field and to run the ball himself.
