NBA Standings
Lakers: 31-43, 10th place Western Conference
Mavericks: 46-29, 4th place Western Conference
An NBA Western Conference matchup between teams that will not make the Finals. I will put money on that. The problem with this matchup is it is barely a matchup. In the Lakers last embarrassing loss LeBron James tweaked his ankle…If LeBorn does not play the Lakers have no team. They have players but no actual team. The Mavericks have been climbing the Western Conference standings into the 4th spot… The 3 teams better than the Mavericks are light years better than the Mavericks. Where do we put our betting $$? Anywhere but the Lakers! Let’s look at the numbers and make some money… whether or not it is on the spread or the Over/Under.
The Los Angeles Lakers have won only 3 of their last ten games. They have stunk up the joint. They have both never led and dropped big leads. In each game LeBron James has made his case to lead the league in scoring. With each big game LeBron throws down… the Lakers fall further down. The Lakers are now in 10th place and just a game away from dropping out of the “play-in” game. The reality is that the Lakers have to play 7 of 8 games left against playoff bound teams. They could end the season not only in 11th place… but several games back from the San Antonio Spurs who are likely to overtake them for 10th place. They are 4-6 ATS during that stretch. The teams they have played have run the gamut between good and mediocre and flat out bad… the Lakers have not consistently performed on any level. SG Austin Reeves and Sf Stanley Johnson should not be on any team this year, yet they are starters with the Lakers. It is all over for this season… Do not bet on them unless you see double digit spreads and know for sure that LeBron is playing.
The Dallas Mavericks have won 6 of their last ten games. They went 5-5 ATs during that stretch. Dallas has a good team with a GREAT player leading them. They won their last game against Utah which helped to propel them into 4th in the West. Pg Luka Doncic is the canary in the coal mine… if he is having a good game the entire team tends to have one. In the Last game Luka gave Dallas 32 pts, 10 rbs, and 5 asts. A great statline… but only mediocre for a Luka outing. The rest of the roster is made up of NBA role players… good ones at that. But still role players. Reggis Bullock, Dorian Finney Smith, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Jalen Brunson. They could all go away and be replaced by any other 4 quality role players and the Mavericks would be fine. They aren’t potential champs now unless something major happens and they will not be potential champs later unless something major happens. They are, however head and shoulders above the Los Angeles Lakers..

Los Angeles Lakers vs Dallas Mavericks Game Prediction
Our prediction for Tuesday, March 29th is…. Mavericks 118 - Lakers 106
The Mavericks will drown the Lakers especially if LeBron doesn't play. If the spread represents a bigger beat than this… then for god’s sake skip the bet. Avoid the Over or Under bet as the lakers may or may not have LeBron in the lineup… That goes a long way in deciding what the lakers can score in any given game.
