Gators vs Bulls Prediction

The Florida Gators football team is coming into this matchup sitting in 4th place in the SEC East with a 1-0 record. They won their season opener of the college football season schedule against their Florida Atlantic opponents 35-14. They will be playing this NCAA football season with the FBS playoffs on their mind trying to climb the AP poll. The Gators have a pretty good bowl record in the football bowl subdivision but they will be looking to play in some major bowls this season. Emory Jones had an alright game completing 17/27 passes for 113 yards, 1 touchdown and a pair of interceptions. Anthony Richardson led the team in rushing with 160 yards and 1 touchdown to cap off his 7 carries. Malik Davis also had a great game in the running game with 104 yards and 1 touchdown on 14 carries. Dameon Pierce also found the end zone twice on the ground. None of the receivers really stood out in this one with Ja'Markis Weston leading the receivers with 44 yards on 3 receptions. Rick Wells caught 5 passes for 36 yards and a touchdown. Zachary Carter had a great game on defense as he led the team with 3 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, and 3 sacks. Two other players also recorded a sack in the game and another half of one so the defense really came to play and rushed the QB well. They will want to take advantage against this weak team as afterward they have home games to Alabama Crimson Tide and Tennessee, then they play Kentucky, LSU, Vanderbilt, and Missouri.

The South Florida Bulls football team are sitting in 11th place of the American Athletic Conference in the National Collegiate Athletic Association with a 0-1 record overall. They were crushed in their first game of the college football schedule on Thursday night  to the NC State Wolfpack 45-0. They have a long way to go if they are looking to dethrone Cincinnati. Cade Fortin did not have a good game as the starter completing 7/20 passes for 41 yards and 1 interception. Timmy McClain did not play well either completing 7/13 passes for 126 yards and 2 interceptions. Jaren Mangham led the rushing game with 26 yards on 5 carries, absolutely awful. Xavier Weaver caught 2 passes for 73 yards, not a single other receiver got over 50 yards receiving in that one for the USF Bulls football team. Daquan Evans led the defense with 4 solo tackles and 3 assisted ones while Antonio Grier Jr was the only player to record a sack and Matthew Hill with an interception.

South Florida was destroyed in their last game and the Gators are a much better team and will be tougher opponents than North Carolina State. They did not even score a single point and now they face a Gators team that has the college football playoff on their minds. The bookmakers have the spread pretty large in this one but the Gators have a really good defense, offense, and special teams so they will likely drown the Bulls and cover that spread so it is worth it to take a stab at that line.

Players to Watch

Florida Gators: Anthony Richardson is one player to watch in this game. He played great in the last game putting up some big stats. He ran for over 150 rushing yards and he will be looking to continue that hot streak into the next Florida Gators game. His great play highlights how many talented and explosive players there are on this team.

South Florida Bulls: Quarterback Cade Fortin is one player to watch in this South Florida Bulls game as he will need to step up his game if his team wants to win here at home in front of all the fans. The University of South Florida Bulls football team could not muster up any points in their last game and will need some supervision moving forward as they will be facing some pretty athletic teams in this schedule.
