Arizona Cardinals Analysis

The Cardinals are coming into this game with a 2-0 record overall and are 1-0 in their road games where they will be in this one. They won their season opener in a blowout against the Tennessee Titans and then followed that one up with a close win against the Minnesota Vikings that would have gone the other way had the Vikings' kicker made the field goal at the end. Kyler Murray played well in that game but also struggled at times as he completed 29/36 passes for 400 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The run game did not get much going in that one as Chase Edmonds led the team in rushing with 46 yards on 8 carries. The receiving corps had a big day though as Rondale Moore led the team in receiving with 114 yards and 1 touchdown on 7 receptions. Maxx Williams also had a nice day with 94 receiving yards on 7 receptions. Jalen Thompson led the defense with 8 solo tackles while Budda Baker had 7 solo tackles and 1 assisted one. Only Markus Golden was able to get to the quarterback for 1 sack in that game while no one on the defense had an interception in the game. They have scored 72 points in their first 2 games and they have allowed their opponents to score 46 points against them. Their offense has accumulated 890 yards while their defense has allowed 667 yards against them.

Jacksonville Jaguars Analysis

The Jaguars are coming into this game with a 0-2 record overall and are 0-1 in their home games this season where they will be in this game. They lost their first game of the season against the Houston Texans and then followed that one up with another loss against the Denver Broncos in their last game. Trevor Lawrence struggled again in his 2nd ever NFL start as he completed 14/33 passes for 118 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. They did not really get a run game going as James Robinson led the team in rushing with 47 yards on 11 carries. It was a quiet day for the receiving corps as Marvin Jones led the team in receiving with just 55 yards and 1 touchdown on 6 receptions. Rayshawn Jenkins led the defense with 6 solo tackles. Andrew Wingard and Adam Gotsis both had 1 sack each in that game but no one on the defense came away with an interception. They have scored 34 points in their first 2 games and they have allowed their opponents to score 60 points against them. Their offense has accumulated 584 yards while their defense has allowed 847 yards against them.

Cardinals vs Jaguars Prediction

The Jags have struggled a lot in both of their games as Urban Meyer and Trevor Lawrence are still trying to figure out how the NFL works still. Kingsbury and Murray both have some years in the NFL under their belt now and the Cardinals have surely come out swinging in their first 2 games. Their defense has been pretty good as well so it will be tough for Lawrence to move the ball against them. The Jags will struggle in another game here as Murray and the Cardinals go on to win by a lot and cover the spread in a blowout.

Players to Watch

Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray is one player to watch in this game. He has been crushing it in his first 2 games this season and has been throwing the ball a lot. Look for him to rack up the passing yards as he is on course to have some big passing numbers by the end of the season.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence is one player to watch here. He is the leader on this offense and he will have to step up his game and cut down on the turnovers in this one. Whether or not the Jags will be competitive is totally up to him and the way he plays so look for him to improve as he gets more and more experience under his belt.

Notable Quotes

"I'd rather be lucky than good sometimes. We got the ‘W' with that missed field goal and I'm gonna celebrate it. It's hard to be 2-0 in this league, it's hard to win games in this league. It doesn't matter how it happens." - Maxx Williams after winning a very close game against the Vikings in week 2.

"There was a lot of hard work that went into it. I've had a lot of people in my corner just supporting me throughout that whole process. I take each play as an opportunity to go be me." - Courtland Sutton on his good performance in a win over the Jaguars after missing a lot of last season due to injury.
