Warriors: 15-2 1st place, Western Conference
Philadelphia entered this season with hopes of finally cracking the combination to winning the Eastern Conference and getting a shot at a title. All they had to do was find a trade partner for Ben Simmons. Ben is a great NBA talent that can defend, pass, and dunk, he just can’t shoot. Still someone would want to give up the farm to get him… and then the 76ers could ride C Joel Embiid, SF Tobias Harris, and the yet to be named plethora of young near all-star players that were supposed to be on the way… plus draft picks! The trade never came and Simmons stopped showing up at all. The Sixers and Ben Simmons are in a stand-off that will produce zero winners. They should move him, but he tanked his value… they should still move him, but they don’t want to look like suckers… They should move him, but no one wants him? oh.. And then Embiid missed some time with an injury (as usual) and Covid-19 and the team now finds themselves in 8th place in an Eastern Conference where several perennial doormats like the Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets and the Chicago Bulls have suddenly gotten much much better. The window is closing on Philadelphia. They need to cut the crap and get Ben a new team for pennies on the dollar… cuz rainy days are here and Philly could use some pennies.
When Klay Thompson went down with a torn ACL in the NBA Finals, just before Kevin Durant left for the Brooklyn Nets, it was assumed he would miss a year and the franchise would suffer. They did, they had an awful year that resulted in a high draft pick. Then when Klay Thompson went down with a torn achilles tendon just before his return to availability… it was assumed it was all over. Another bad year, more high draft picks and creative trades to fill out the roster. Now two years later the Warriors are targeting a return date for Klay in the middle of January this season (2 ½ years missed) and he’ll be walking back into... a great basketball team! Thanks to leading scorer Stephen Curry and management doing a bang up job of trading and drafting over the down seasons, Klay will be walking back into a Championship contender. Sure, they have some problems like PF/C James Wiseman getting right knee surgery yesterday with no timetable for his return… but they don’t seem to have any problems winning.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Golden State Warriors Preview and Analysis
RECENT FORM
PHI is 10-8 on the season, but 9-8-1 ATS. They have logged 7 Overs, 10 Unders, and 1 Push. They are 6-4 in road games which is a better win percentage than they are getting at home.
GS is 15-2 on the season, but 12-4-1 ATS. They have logged 6 Overs and 11 Unders. They are a near pristine 9-1 at home. If you haven’t been to the Chase Center it is state of the art and has some of the priciest , swankiest concessions in all the league.
Offensive Analysis
Philly is 14th in points scored 107.7 per. They are 29th in rebounds 41.8 per, 6th in AST/TO ratio, 6th in blocks 5.8 per
Golden State is 1st in the NBA in points with an average of 114.2 per game. They are 2nd in rebounds with 47.6 per game. They are 8th in AST/TO ratio with 1.8.
Defensive Analysis
Philly is 15th on defense in the NBA in allowing points, 15th in opponents FG%, 22nd in opponents 3pt FG%, and 15th in rebounds per game.
Earlier in the year Draymond Green declared that he was the best defender in the NBA of all time… he got scoffed at on morning radio sports talk shows and talking head TV panels. His declaration was taken for entertainment purposes among retired players who love to go on about how everything was harder when they played. Draymond may not be the best NBA defender of all time, but it is close. The thing he really is…. Is the best “do my job” NBA player of all time. He doesn’t score like Steph Curry yet Draymond’s contribution across the stat sheet in every category imaginable is felt in winning. And he has been doing it for years now! The Warriors are right now 1st in the NBA in defending points allowing only 101.1 per game. They are 1st in opponents FG% (defending) 42%, 5th in defending 3 pointers, and 3rd in defensive rebounds per game 42.1. Defense is a team effort and the Warriors have depth and young capable talent… but it’s all anchored by Draymond.
