Athletics vs Rangers Prediction

The current betting odds have not been listed in this game yet. The Rangers just had their manager fired Monday afternoon after a very disappointing season where they are currently over 10 games under .500, even after having a great offseason where they signed some big names. They have not been playing very well for most of the season though, but now that they have won 2 straight and have fired their manager, they could start to gain some traction here. The A's have not been very good this season either with one of the worst offenses in the MLB and they have one of the worst records as well. They have JP Sears starting here and even though he has been good this season, he has not made many starts in this rookie season and has mainly pitched in the minors for the Yankees. The Rangers do not have a probable pitcher yet but their bullpen has been a lot better in recent games as they have not been allowing as many runs. The A's come into this series after getting swept and they have not been scoring runs either. This is a good opportunity for the Rangers to get a fresh start in this series at home with their new manager, and they should cease the opportunity against a bad team. The best way to place a bet here is on the Rangers to win this game.

Notable Quotes

"Overall, for Zach, I think he missed some locations today that really hurt him against a good hitting team. These guys, obviously, are professional hitters and take advantage of those mistakes when balls are over the middle. They don't miss very many of them and they obviously didn't today." - Mark Kotsay after his team’s loss against the Astros on Saturday.

"He's got closer stuff. That second inning was about as good as you can execute." - Chris Woodward after his team’s win against the Mariners on Sunday.
