Season Record

Minnesota: 0-0 conf, 6-0 overall (Big Ten)
Mississippi State: 0-0 conf, 6-1 overall (SEC)

Minnesota is on a six game win streak to open the season.  Their last game was a nail biter!  On Tuesday night they dueled with the Pitt Panthers down to the very last shot and came away with a 54-53 win.  The win keeps them on the Big Ten leaderboard with the other undefeated Big Ten team the Purdue Boilermakers.  It’s going to be a fun college basketball season for the Golden Gophers.

Mississippi State is 6-1 on the season.  They have been knocking off small school patsies to pad the record (as has everyone else).  They got tripped up against the Louisville Cardinals and lost 72-58.  To keep up with the Golden Gophers the Bulldogs will have to knock down more shots then they have been.  Shakeel Moore is the Bulldogs only consistent threat from beyond the arc.

Talk about consistent! Ben Burns just wrapped up a winning November. He's "produced profits in six of the past seven months." He was 83-52 last December and that included an AWESOME 37-17 (69%) COLLEGE HOOPS RECORD, good for $15K in earnings. As per usual, Ben is DOMINATING the college hardwood. He's 4-1 this week and 21-11 this season. LET'S GO!  Get Ben Burns’ picks right now at the Shop Picks page, where you can find all of the Best Bets from our champion sports handicappers. NCAAF, NFL, MLB… get positive value from all your bets! Expert picks!  Fun fact… winning a wager is much better than making a wager!

Golden Gophers vs Bulldogs Preview and Analysis

Recent Form:

Minnesota is 6-0 on the season, but 4-2 ATS.  They have logged 2 Overs and 4 Unders.  They are 1-0 on the road.  They should head into this one confident since they are shooting 10% better from FG% than Mississippi State.  A focus on rebounds should be their priority.

Mississippi State is 6-1 on the season, but 4-3 ATS.  They have notched 3 Overs and 4 Unders.  They are a pristine 5-0 in home games.  That home game mark will get tested.

Offensive Analysis

Minnesota is averaging 69.7 ppg 32.2 rpg and 1.1 AST/TO.  The rankings are not impressive, that scoring is 226th in the nation, those rebounds are 221st in the nation.  It’s a weird time in college basketball to focus on rankings of stats… The strength of schedule Minny has played is about 3x that of Miss St.

Mississippi State is 153rd in points per game with 74.1, 37th in rebounds with 37.7 and 124th in AST/TO ratio with 1.1.  They have played quality defense to this point and that could be what puts them over if they get this win.
