An inter-conference battle between the profoundly disappointing and the Mysteriously disappointing. The Wizards are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference and are 3 games below .500. To address these problems they made tiny little moves at the trade deadline. They GAVE PF Rui Hachimura to the Los Angeles Lakers for a collection of worthless 2nd round picks… and a player they do not intend on playing?... huh? Maybe DC is cursed. By all accounts they have 3 pretty good to great NBA players in Kuzma, Porzingis, and Beal… but these guys have never produced wins at the same time they were producing stats… unless there was a much bigger star next to them doing the actual work of winning. The Wizards are in a no-man’s land. The Timberwolves are in 6th place in the Western Conference with a 31-29 record and just 3 games above .500. A quick glance at the Western Conference will show you that 4-12 is so tightly bunched that just a couple of losses in a row could tumble them to Wizard’s level of standings embarrassment. The Timberwolves have a trio of high quality players as well… Conley, Edwards, and Gobert. They recently added Conley from the Jazz while GIVING PG De’Angelo Russell to the Los Angeles Lakers. It seems that the Lakers have wildly benefitted from bad teams making tiny moves for little return. The great betting opportunity here will be found in the last ten games of both teams. We will see who is rolling and who is struggling.
The Washington Wizards have won 6 of their last 10 games. They went 6-3-1 ATS during that stretch. They won their last game over the Portland Trail Blazers 126-101. In the win they got 33 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists from SF Kyle Kuzma and 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 assists from PF Kristaps Porzingis. Having a tandem of Forwards this capable is probably why they gave away Hachimura. Maybe the addiction by subtraction will open things up for Porzingis? who no longer has to play Center. However the 19 points from SG Bradley Beal was both good and sad. Bradley could have gotten this team a treasure chest of picks and players 3 YEARS AGO… now he is not in the top-5 of SGs in the league. They should have traded him to a contender and built around Kuzma.,.. But?
The Minnesota Timberwolves have also won 6 of their last 10 games.. While going 6-4 ATS during that run. In their last game they beat the Dallas Mavericks and the new super duo of Irving and Doncic (who have yet to win together BTW). 124-121. In the win the T-Wolves got 32 points from rising star SG Anthony Edwards… trading De'Angelo Russell seems to have been about opening things up for Edwards (similar to the Hachimura trade from Washington and Porzingis). C Rudy Gobert killed the paint with 21 points & 14 rebounds. And SF Jaden McDaniels (playing as a PF) contributed 19 points. The T-Wolves also have PF/C Karl-Anthony Towns… who absolutely MUST be traded this summer. They have no place for him… But they could really use a ton more depth to advance Edwards and Gobert.

NBA Betting Trends
The Wizards are 2-0 ATS versus Minnesota at Minny the last 3 seasons.
Both games in Minny have gone OVER the last 3 seasons.
The T-Wolves are 5-1 ATS revenging 10 point losses this season.
Players To Watch
Wizards: SF Kyle Kuzma. Kyle needs to take the reins as the Wizards star player. Porzingis and Beal have put up several years showing the league that they are not going to do it.
T-Wolves: SG Anthony Edwards. A mix of skill and incredible athleticism. This former #1 draft pick overall needs to keep pushing. With the barrage of scoring in the league and with Edwards playing in Minnesota of all places… Only really great scoring will get him noticed.
COACH
Wizards: Wes “Can’t get these guys to win” Unseld Jr
Timberwolves: Chris “finchy” Finch
