An inter conference battle of fantastic rosters and potential contenders for the title.. Who may both be hobbled by the same injuries that have hobbled them all year.  The Milwaukee Bucks just got SF Khris Middleton back from a season long injury absence a few weeks ago.. They started him slow with “limited minutes”' and he was playing great with impactful statlines over just 20 minutes a night.  They added minutes slowly and he was still playing great… whether it was alongside Giannis or on the court without Giannis. Sadly he will miss the game against the Clippers because of soreness that must be managed.  The Clippers have “missed” SF Kawhi Leonard (2X MVP of the NBA Finals) for the majority of his 3 seasons in Los Angeles and this season was no different. Kawhi has been in and out of the lineup with a month long absence and a few nights of simply sitting.  He will also miss this game because of “soreness”... This game also comes after the trade deadline.. So the new clippers PG Bones Hyland, SG Eric Gordon, and C/PF Mason Plumlee will not yet be with the team… as PF Jae Crowder will not yet be with the Bucks.  To make our viewing eyes more tired… Giannis is listed as Day to Day so he may or may not play?... The great betting opportunity here is in figuring out what is left.

The Milwaukee Bucks have won 9 of their last 10 games. They are on a league shattering 9-game win streak that has them just a game behind the Boston Celtics for 1st place.  They won their last game against the Los Angeles Lakers 115-106 for a close win ATS by just a point over the -8 they walked in with. In the win PF Giannis had 38 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists… and not so shockingly the #2 scoring Buck was SF Khris Middelton with 22,5,3 in 24 minutes.

The Los Angeles Clippers have won 7 of their last 10 games but lost their last one to the Dallas Mavericks 110-104… who were debuting Kyrie Irving without Luka Doncic in the line-up.  The Clippers made a few trades at the deadline and seriously need more scoring and need it quick.  In the loss PG Tre Mann had 21 points, SG Paul George had 20 points, and super bench guard SG Norman Powell had 24 points in 27 minutes.  PF Marcus Morris SR had a terrible shooting night (1-8) and came away with only 2 points in 30 minutes.  Maybe we should recognize Marcus’s 6 rebounds and 4 assists?  The team traded Reggie Jackson, John Wall, and Luke Kennard.. Who were barely playing or not playing anyway.

The Bucks are 14th in scoring with 114.5 points per game, 1st in rebounds with 49.1 per game. On defense they rank 7th while holding opponents to 111.7 points per game. The +3 point advantage is huge for a team that is this good on defense.

The Clippers are 28th in scoring with 111.1 points per game, 15th in rebounds with 43.8 per game. On defense they rank 4th while only allowing 110.8 points per game.  They defensive strength is key as they did not give up any of it when they shipped out Jackson, Wall, Kennard and hopefully will bring in some offensive punch.

Our prediction for Friday, February 10th is…. Clippers 111 - Bucks 99

Bet on the Clippers.  This Bucks team has gotten used to playing with Khris Middleton who has been getting them a pint per minute off the bench.  Without that punch?... The Clippers defense will be able to handle what they are throwing.  The game plan should be simple… crowd Giannis (if he plays) and force guys like Grayson Allen and Jrue Holiday to try to get around Paul George and Terence Mann

Clippers: SF Kawhi Leonard.  Kawhi has been playing at a high level since returning from his last injury absence.  He is a very gifted scorer with long arms that clogs passing lanes on defense.  He is a 2X NBA FInals MVP and he got them with two different teams. Of course Clippers fans know all too well that at any moment he could feel “soreness” or “swelling” and will disappear for a month…. OOOPS, too late. He will miss the game due to right knee soreness. Maybe next time… or next year?
