A Western Conference battle of heated rivals… who simply are not having the seasons they desired.  The Trail Blazers have a 71 point man in PG Damian Lilliard, but that was against the Houston Rockets who had simply no quality players on the floor.  The Blazers are mired in a bad season and even though LeBron is injured for two to three weeks it is most likely that the Lakers will jump them in the standings before the season is done. The Warriors are the league’s defending Champs but do not look like it at all at the moment.  They will be missing Pg Steph Curry and SF Andrew Wiggins fir this game.. Those are literally the two best players in the lineup… sorry Klay.  The great betting opportunity here is in knowing that the Trail Blazers are not good and will also be missing 2 starters from their lineup… what does that mean for a small spread to have two wounded ducks go head to head… usually that means the best player on the court will decide the advantage.

The Portland Trail Blazers have won 5 of their last 10 games.  They went 4-5-1 ATS during that stretch.  They won their last game against the Houston Rockets 131-114.  In that win the Blazers got 71 points from PG Damian Lilliard to go with 6 rebounds and 6 assists in 39 minutes of play.  The rest of the roster was relatively quiet as there were very few extra shot to go around.  Damian shot 22 of 38 from the field and hit 13 of 22 3-pointers… who else was supposed to shoot?

The Golden State Warriors have won 5 of their last 10 games.  They went 4-5-1 ATS during that stretch.  They won their last game against the Minnesota Timberwolves 109-104. In the win they got 32 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists from SG Klay Thompson… 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists from SF Donte DiVincenzo… and 12 points & 17 rebounds from C Kevon Looney.  The Warriors are deep and even though they are missing two of their starters they can still field a quality NBA team.

Players To Watch

Blazers: PG Damian Lilliard.  What if I were to tell you that the best point guard in the league has been living on the fringe for the entirety of his career?  He has left league MVPs and Championships in his rear view mirror simply because he is loyal to a small market team that can’t get the draft or the free agency period right.  What if I were to tell you THAT GUY just dropped 71 points against some kids masquerading as an NBA team?  What if I were to tell you Kobe’s equal is a 6’1 point guard who plates in Oregon and will never get the flowers he deserves unless he pushes for a trade… but he won’t… you might want to watch that guy.

Warriors: SG Klay Thompson.  He has missed entire seasons with injury.  He has 4 Championship rings… He has come back from missing the season to score at will again. He is old and will one day be in the Hall of Fame, but there is still plenty of basketball left in his soul.

COACH

Blazers: Chauncey “cooler than Ice Cold” Billups
Warriors: Steve “Lord of the Rings” Kerr
