An inter conference battle of true losers.  It is tough to call teams losers when anyone in pro basketball can go on a run and pull off a win. These teams seem to never go on a run.  The Orlando Magic are in a heated battle of losing in order to win the NBA Draft Lottery. I’m tired of painting that out but 14 NBA teams would rather get C doctor Wembanyam from France than ever win another game.  The Magic are a team that has a dozen former first round draft picks that disappointed either them or some one else.  At the moment every Magic play except rookie PF Paolo Banchero is trade bait for the coming draft.  They have lots of young athletic pieces and almost no Keepers.  The New Orleans Pelicans thought they would be contenders as recently asd this time last season when they were contenders… Yet Zion never got healthy after his massive contract extension.  There should be a league wide rule that invalidates contracts if the payer getting them simply never plays. That won't happen so instead the Pelicans who have been built with a healthy Ziuon in mind ARE LOSERS… literally 1 game below .500. The great betting opportunity here is in knowing how many layers of meat and cheese Zion’s next burger will come with?.. I’m betting FIVE!  Jokes aside, the Pelicans collapsed… Let's look at the trends!

The Orlando Magic have won 5 of their last 10 games.  They went 4-6 ATS during that stretch.  They lost their last game to the Indiana Pacers 121-108… a truly sad outcome since the Pacers have no true starting forwards on their roster.  In the loss the Magic got 21 points from Sf Franz Wagner… that kid led them in scoring AND is not yet old enough to buy a beer. That is the problem in Orlando. Potential ROY PF Paolo Banchero got 19 points & 6 rebounds.  Bench guard Jalen Suggs got 14, 5, and 2… and could use a change of scenery.

The New Orleans Pelicans have won 4 of their last 10 games.  They are on a 3-game losing streak to mediocre to bad teams.  They went 4-6 ATS. They lost their last game to the New york Knicks 128-106 for a big loss ATS.  In the loss 5 Pelicans scored in double figures but NO PELICAN got 20 points.  SG CJ McCollum shot the ball very poorly and ended up with a season high -32 on the +/- scale.  The Pelicans have managed to break CJ McCollum!

Bet on the Magic.  You get 4 points to put in your pocket, but you also get a bunch of athletic banshees going after a defeated squad.  The Pelicans biggest problem is that they are owed a pick swap with the Lakers… and the Lakers are on the rise while they are on the fall.

Pelicans:  SF Trey Murphy III.  With Zion Williamson OUT seemingly forever… The team has moved to playing Bradon Ingram at the SG and Trey at the SF. Trey has size and athleticism.  Trey is ready to prove he belongs, but Naji Harris on his own team played the spot better when both Brandon and Zion were OUT.  What will happen to Trey if the Pelicans ever get healthy?
