A Western Conference battle in Sacramento played in the wee hours of the night on the East Coast.  It will be worth staying up late for… It will be a sight to see.  Both of these teams are overlooked in the discussion of who are contenders in the West.  The overlooking of the T-Wolves was fair for MOST of the season.. Because PF Karl-Anthony Towns missed MOST of the season.  But now KAT is back and teh roster that was designed to have two big men… one defense, one offense… and a young superstar SG in Anthony Edwards… and solid point guard play in Mike Conley… is finally as whole as they will get!  They could be a different story going forward.  The Sacramento Kings are overlooked as contenders because they have been doormats of the league for the last 18 seasons… yup.. 18 seasons.  However this season they are frequent winners with great leadership and budding stars.  The Kings are also the #1 offense in the league.  That is not a small thing in a league where offense defines everyone.  The great betting opportunity here is all about who will be on the right roll at the tip.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have won only 5 of their last 10 games, but are on a 3-game winning streak in what T-Wolves fans are hoping was a sharp turn of the corner.  They won their last game against the Golden State Warriors 99-96. In the win they got 6 players scoring in double figures, but only backup Canter Naz Reid cracked 20+ by scoring 23 points in 20 minutes.  That game was a hard fought defensive battle .. the T-Wolves got a boost also from bench SF Kyle Anderson who had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists in in 31 minutes… so you might say that the depth bailed the Wolves out and won the game.

The Sacramento Kings have won 7 of their last 10 games.. The sort of thing that winning teams do.  They went 6-4 ATS during that stretch.  They won their last game over the Utah Jazz 121-113, but failed to cover the 9 point spread.  In the win they got 16 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 assists from C Domantas Sabonis.. The clear heart and soul of this team. They also got 22 points from rookie PF Keegan Murray and SG Kevin Huerter continued his hot streak with 27 points.  PG, and other star, De’Aaron Fox did not play.

Minnesota Timberwolves VS Sacramento Kings Prediction

Our prediction for Monday, March 27th is…. Kings 123 - T-wolves 122

Bet on the Wolves.  It is literally the only smart play here.  The Wolves are finally whole which will make for different results than they have gotten all season.  Plus if the Wolves can’t pull it out you at least have 5.5 points to put in your pocket toward the final score.

NBA Betting Trends

The T-wolves are 24-16 ATS as a road underdog this season.
The Kings are 26-21 ATS as a favorite this season.

Players To Watch

T-Wolves: PF Karl-Antony Towns. Don’t be fooled by Karl’s size.  He is actually a great shooter which is why the Wolves traded for Ridy Gobert in the first place.  Not to supplant KAT, but to play them side by side.  Karl can go off from 3-point distance… but he also has to take it slow and get the easy baskets that often come to a 7-footer.  He is the difference or he is not.

Kings: C Domantas Sabonis.  Sabonis is the best King.  That is for certain.  He is like the Diet Coke version to Nikola Jokic’s Coke.  He will be pressed hard by Rudy Gobert and drawn out form the lane by KAT.  If Sabonis can have an average Sabonis game… he will bring the win.

COACH

T-Wolves: Chris “Frenchy Finchy” Finch
Kings: Mike “I got this” Brown
