An NBA Eastern Conference whimper.  A wildly unfair matchup between a good team and the terrible team in DC.  The Milwaukee Bucks are the first place team in the East… They lost their last game which snapped a 16 game winning streak.  They recently took first place from the previously thought uncatchable Boston Celtics.  The Bucks have everything going for them.  They have Giannis.. And that is everything.  PG Jrue Holiday is a two-way stud.  SG Khris Middelton has shaky health but a real ability to score the basketball. The rest of the entire roster is made up of quality NBA players that may be interchangeable, but the Bucks haven’t found many changes except to add PF Jae Crowder from the Suns.. who will only take minutes from Bobby Portis… so no real changes.  The Washington Wizards are a tragic story really.  They have been bad forever… even when they have had good rosters and pushed for a playoff berth no one ever thinks the Wizards will do anything. The current tragedy is that they held on to SG Bradley Beal WAYYYY too long.  They could have traded him 3 seasons ago for the type of package that Paul George or Anthony Davis went for… at this moment in time he is worth a couple of picks and waivable players… That is it.  The Wizards shuffle and reshuffle but they never go “all-in”... so they never drastically improve.  They currently have PF Kristaps Porzingis who is neither worth his salary nor the nickname “the unicorn”... because he is far from a magical creature.  The great betting opportunity here is found in the OBVIOUS.

The Milwaukee Bucks have won 9 of their last 10 games… but really that is 16 of their last 17 games.  They lost their last game to the Philadelphia 76ers 133-130.  They could not stop Center Joel Embiid is the real story of the loss.  In the loss they got 34 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 assists from PF Giannis, 26 points & 6 rebounds from C Brook Lopez, 26 points & 13 assists from PG Jrue Holiday, and 20 points from SG Grayson Allen… and they still lost!  It was a fluke that also saw a combined 67 points and 20 assists from Sixers James Harden and Joel Embiid.  Sometimes a team just loses after a long streak.

The Washington Wizards have 6 of their last 10 games which is a good stretch for them.  They went 6-4 ATS.  They lost their last game in overtime to the Toronto Raptors 116-109.  In the loss they got 22 points & 11 rebounds from PF Kristaps Prozingis who was playing Center.  They also got 21 points from Sg Bradley Beal… and despite pushing the game to overtime they simply did not have enough left in the tank to do anything in that overtime period. This team really ought to consider a FULL rebuild and possibly a rebranding.  They won’t win the NBA Draft Lottery and they won’t make the playoffs… that is a frowny face emoji… if ever anything deserved one.

Bucks:  PF Giannis Antetokounmpo.  Giannis is the man.  He ushers in wins… he ushers in domination.  His MVPs and his lone championship stand on his resume as “incomplete”... He needs more of both to properly define how great Giannis has been for the Bucks and for the league.  His team is really just a bunch of backup dancers… my apologies to Holiday and Middleton… But they are interchangeable with other players.. While Giannis is interchangeable with no one.  Giannis has three brothers that are also tall… BUT the basketball gods apparently only “touched” Giannis… It is funny how someone great can get 3 people who are not great, great jobs… But Giannis is great.

Wizards: SF/PF Kyle Kuzma.  Kyle has been lost in the shuffle. Moved front eh Lakers for PG Russell Westbrook he is forgotten.  However he has been the missing piece that LeBorn needed this season.. And he is missing pieces to help make Washington a good team.  Hopefully Kyle will find himself in a better situation soon.. He is ideally the third best player on a Contending team… but for now he lives a life of Tobias Harris BEFORE the Sixers… Best player on a bad team.
