An interconference mismatch.. As the 11th place team in the East plays the #1 team in the West.  These two rosters are not alike.  The Chicago Bulls will be playing 4 guys with guard skills revolving around an average NBA Center.  The Denver Nuggets will be playing 2 better guards and 2 actual forwards revolving around the best Center in the league who is just a few more big games from his 3rd consecutive MVP trophy.  This is not a fair matchup…. But is it 8.5 points worth of a mismatch?  The great betting opportunity here is entirely found in whether or not the undermanned Bulls can at least score enough to cover… let’s check the trends and find the correct prediction.

The Chicago Bulls have won only 3 of their last 10 games. They are currently in the worst spot of any team in the league… They aren’t good enough to expect a postseason… and they aren’t bad enough to be serious contenders for drafting Victor Wembanyama or Scoot Henderson.  The Bulls are probably ready for a massive rebuild at this season’s conclusion. They are only 2-8 ATS during that stretch… Having not covered the spread in a single loss.  They lost their last game to the Indiana Pacers 125-122.  In that game they got  42 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists from SG Zach LaVine and 23 points from SF DeMar DeRozan.  That is how their season has mostly gone.  Big games from those two while almost nothing from the supporting cast.  A rebuild is scary difficult if your only two quality trade pieces happen to also be your entire offense.

The Denver Nuggets have won 8 of their last 10 games. They went 7-3 ATS during that stretch.  They last beat the Toronto Raptors 118-113.  That was their only win where they didn’t cover the spread in going back 14 games. In the win they got 17 points, 13 rebounds, and 9 assists from C Nikola Jokic, 24 points & 5 assists from PG Jamal Murray, 20 points from PF Michael Porter JR, and 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists from SF Aaron Gordon.  They kill you from everywhere on the court because of the assists.. Because of the teamwork… and because Nikola is that good.

His career and prospects are fading… but never forget this is a guy that made the most out of pure hustle and attitude.

Nuggets: PG Jamal Murray… Jamal has the best of both worlds at the moment.. He is a more than capable point guard BUT he also plays with a Center that will get double digit assists on most nights… That gives Jamal the chance to simply spot up after initiating the ball into the post… He can create his own shot, but he also gets to spot up with the great chance of being hit if he is open.
