Brewers vs Reds Prediction

The current betting odds have the Reds listed as a slight favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Reds were really hot going into the All-Star break but they stumbled a bit in that last series against the Brewers. Now they face the Brewers again in this series with a chance to get their revenge at home and this will be a really important series as the winner will have the lead of the NL Central after. The Brewers have been a really up and down team all season, they are finally starting to get hot now but their offense still hasn't been that great. They actually have one of the worst offenses in the MLB this season and the Reds are starting Abbott here who has been very good all year. He did give up 6 runs in his last start against the Brewers but he will be looking to bounce back back at home here since that has been his worst start of the season, not giving up many runs at all in his others. The Brewers are going with Peralta here and he hasn't been that great this season since he has been consistently giving up runs in his starts. He is going to get himself into trouble here with how hot that Reds offense has been lately and the Reds are going to be looking to get after him after losing the series to the Brewers right before the All-Star break. The Reds still have the better pitching matchup in this game as Abbott will bounce back at home with a much better start and the Reds also have the much hotter offense too. The best way to place a bet here is on the Reds to win this game.

Notable Quotes

’We’ve seen Wade Miley a lot, and we’ve seen him pitch really well, but I don’t know if I’ve seen him like that. That was really, really good. I know our hitters expected to score some runs, but Wade really pitched well. He was throwing hard, he looked great out there.” - David Bell after his team’s loss against the Brewers in their game on Sunday.
