ULM - SMU preview and analysis

Recent form
ULM: lost 96-74 at Louisiana Tech on Wednesday
SMU: won 75-66 vs. Sam Houston State on Wednesday

The SMU Mustangs will look to move to 5-0 at home when they host the UL Monroe Warhawks on Sunday in Moody Coliseum.

This is going to be a matchup of offense and buckets galore to cap off the month of November for these opponents. In short, defense will in fact be optional.

Despite going 2-2 in its last four games, SMU has failed to cover in those stretches while being the favorite in all four contests. SMU is coming off a 9-point loss to Sam Houston State in which the Mustangs were 12-point favorites.

Leading scorer Kendric Davis led the way with 21 points in 6 of 14 shooting, but the team rallied to hit 13 of 25 from behind the arc. Emmanuel Bandoumel also had 13 points while making three 3s.

SMU is 1-8 ATS dating back to last season; the lone win came against Northwestern State when the Mustangs were 20.5-point favorites.

On the flip side, Louisiana-Monroe is 1-4 ATS and 2-3 straight-up over its last five. The Warhawks come into Sunday afternoon having lost by 22 to Louisiana Tech. The Warhawks have lost by double-digit points in every single game to this point. Koreem Ozier led the way with 18 points but the team failed to manage only five made threes as a team with three of them coming from Ozier.
