The Mavericks started the season with a loss to the Atlanta Hawks way back in October.  They played so out of sorts that a feeling of gloom and doom set in in Dallas.  However they soon righted the ship behind the solid play of new Perennial MVP runner up Luka Doncic.. Who has finally been showing flashes of being able to play with Kristaps Porzingas.  Also Kristaps is a pretty great player.  They are in for a very tough stretch of games since Luka Doncic went down Tuesday night with ankle and knee sprains… he will miss an undetermined amount of time… you can bet that the Mavericks will lose a few games while he is gone.

The Phoenix Suns were thought Lucky to have gotten to their NBA Finals appearance last season.  They were a young squad with unproven stars and had just added an aging, all-star Point Guard from the Oklahoma City Thunder… It seemed as if the Thunder didn’t want him at all.  Chris Paul took over the lead of this team and they haven’t looked back since.  A finals appearance last year, finishing the first two months of the season in 2nd place in the Western Conference.

The Suns beat the Mavs last game… that’s right, because of a quirk in the scheduling the Suns play the Mavs twice in 3 days.  Because of a sprain to Luka’s knee… the Mavs will be missing Luka for both games.  The result from game 1 will repeat in game two.  Suns win.

He has quality NBA coaching experience from previous stints with the New Orleans Pelicans (when they were called the Hornets) 2010-2015.  His point guard during that time was a young Chris Paul.  They have come full circle and are together again.
