Big Al's Daily Angle: NBA, NHL, NCAAB and UEFA Champions League Previews and Odds - 12/11/2024

The Wednesday sports card features NBA, NHL, NCAAB, and UEFA Champions League action.

The National Basketball Association has two games on its docket in the final two games of the NBA Cup quarterfinals. The New York Knicks hosts the Atlanta Hawks on ESPN at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Knicks won for the fifth time in their last six games with their 113-108 victory at Toronto as an 8-point favorite on Monday. The Hawks were on a six-game winning streak before their 141-111 upset loss at home against Denver as a 2-point favorite on Sunday. New York is a 7-point favorite with the total set at 238 (all odds from DraftKings).

The Houston Rockets play at home against the Golden State Warriors on TNT at 9:30 p.m. ET. The Rockets ended a two-game losing streak with a 117-106 victory in Los Angeles against the Clippers as a 3.5-point favorite on Sunday. The Warriors won for the second time in their last three games with a 114-106 win against Minnesota as a 1-point favorite on Sunday. Houston is a 2-point favorite with an over/under of 222.

The National Hockey League has two games on its slate. The New York Rangers travel to Buffalo to play the Sabres on TNT at 7:07 p.m. ET as a -142 money-line road favorite with a total of 6. The Ottawa Senators are home against the Anaheim Ducks at 7:37 p.m. ET as a -245 money-line favorite with an over/under of 6. 

The college basketball schedule has 21 games between Division I opponents. Three NCAAB games are on major national television. Two NCAAB games tip off at 7:00 p.m. ET. St. John’s hosts Bryant on the CBS Sports Network as a 22-point favorite with a total of 161. Villanova plays at home against Fairleigh Dickinson on FS1 as a 29-point favorite with an over/under of 151. Kentucky is home against Colgate on ESPN2 at 8:00 p.m. ET as a 30-point favorite with a total of 157.5. 

Matchday 6 in the UEFA Champions League concludes with nine matches. Two matches start at 12:45 p.m. ET. Atletico Madrid hosts Slovan Bratislava as a 2.5-goal-line favorite with an over/under of 3.5. Lille plays at home against Sturm Graz as a -1.5 goal-line favorite with a total of 2.5. 

Seven matches conclude the UCL card at 3:00 p.m. ET. Barcelona plays at Borussia Dortmund as a -0.5 goal-line road favorite with an over/under of 3.5. Manchester City is at Juventus as a -0.5 goal-line road favorite with a total of 2.5. Benfica hosts Bologna as a -1.5 goal-line favorite with an over/under of 2.5. Arsenal plays at home against Monaco as a -1.5 goal-line favorite with a total of 2.5. AC Milan is home against the Red Star Brigade on the CBS Sports Network as a -1.5 goal-line favorite with an over/under of 3.5. Feyenoord hosts Sparta Praha as a -1.5 goal-line favorite with a total of 3.5. Stuttgart plays at home against the Young Boys as a -1.5 goal-line favorite with an over/under of 3.5. All nine Champions League matches are available on Paramount+.
