Northern Illinois Huskies Analysis

NIU is coming into this game with a 5-2 record overall and they are 2-1 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. This will be their 4th conference matchup of the year and they are off to a very good start with their 3-0 record in conference games this season. Their 3 wins came against the Eastern Michigan Eagles, the Toledo Rockets, and against BGSU in their last game. NIU is on a 4 game winning streak coming into this one after that win. Rocky Lombardi did not play well in their last game as they had absolutely no passing offense in that game. He completed 4/8 passes for 38 yards and 1 touchdown. Jevyon Ducker had a massive day on the ground though as he led the team in rushing with 210 yards on 33 carries. Mason Blakemore had 44 yards rushing and 1 touchdown on 4 carries as well but Ducker was pretty much their whole running game in that one. Trayvon Rudolph led the receivers with 20 yards and 1 touchdown on 1 reception in what was a very quiet day for the receiving corps. Dillon Thomas led the defense in that game with 5 solo tackles and 5 assisted ones. James Ester led the defense in sacks in that game with the only sack for them but no one on the defense came away with an interception. They have scored 199 points in 7 games this season averaging 28.4 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 214 points against them allowing 30.6 PPG. Northern Illinois vs Central Michigan Prediction

NIU is coming into this game as a 5 point underdog with the current betting odds according to Draftkings Sportsbook. They are currently leading the MAC and are finding ways to win their games. Central Michigan is just floating above .500 and they have won both of their last 2 games by exactly 3 points, both against conference opponents. NIU has the best overall record and the best conference record in the MAC right now. They also have a positive record when playing on the road just losing the 1 game this year.
