An all out war in the West. The 2nd place team versus last year’s champs. Only this war will be muted a bit… it might not even rise to the level of battle. The Grizzlies missed PG Ja Morant and C Steven Adams to various soreness last game and neither are listed as more than Questionable. On the other side of the court the Warriors are mired in 10th place having never been able to find firm footing in this year’s journey so far… They also have been playing small ball since bench C James Wiseman is out until early February and Starting C Kevon Looney has been in a funk lately. The Behind Door Three option is of course to play undersized Power Forward and future hall of famer Draymond Green at Center. It makes for a very small Warriors team… but loaded with all-stars and future hall of famers. The great betting opportunity in this one is all about who will actually play?
The Memphis Grizzlies have won 7 of their last 10 games. Sadly though all three losses have come on this current 3-game losing streak. The Grizzlies were within a razor’s edge of taking 1st place from the Nuggets.. But after 3 losses, that won’t happen this week. They lost their last game to the Sacramento Kings 133-100… on the receiving end of a bad blow out. The Grizzlies despite the winning of late are only 3-7 ATS. In the loss the Grizz got 21 points out of SG Desmond Bane and 19 points out of PF Jaren Jackson Jr… but really really felt the absences of C Steven Adams and PG Ja Morant as the Kings ran them off the court.
The Warriors have won only 4 of their last 10 games. They lost their last one to the Brooklyn Nets. The Warriors got 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists from PG Stephen Curry, but he could do nothing as Nets PG Kyrie Irving torched Steph for 38 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists. In fact all the Golden State starters had OK games while getting torched by their Nets counterparts. The Warriors will have to decide soon if the trade deadline will fix them now Or get them pieces to fix them next year. If they decide to stand pat with this group?.. they may be doomed.
