An NBA East vs West battle of recently vastly changed teams. The Los Angeles Lakers completed a trade to get PF Rui Hachimura from the Washington Wizards and all they had to give up was Kendrick Nunn and 3 second round picks… and when you are the Lakers with PF LeBron James still performing at a top level and a roster made up of mostly second round picks… The last thing you need is a second round pick two seasons from now. The Lakers are mired in 13th place… but with the addition of Rui and the return of C/PF Anthony Davis… They may soon be a rising comet. They may soon be an entirely different teams… That is of course while assuming perfect health. The Brooklyn Nets got sucker punched when they lost SF Kevin Durant (still the best pure scorer) to a 6 week injury if everything goes well… and a season ending injury if everything doesn’t go well. The thing with the Nets is they have enough strength on the roster to win ENOUGH to stay in solid contention while KD is out. They may, they may not… after all their current best player is PG Kyrie Irving who is apt to want to take games off for birthday parties or embarrass his team with a random public statement… He hasn’t done any of that since his last public embarrassment… so?... The great betting opportunity in this game is about who will rise and who will fall… and can we make some money off that spread?
The Los Angeles Lakers have won 4 of their last 10 games… They were hosed on a final “missed call” in their last game to ruin an uptrend. Sadly they lost a game they should not have against the Boston Celtics 125-121 in overtime… They got the win ATS but try and tell them that! In the loss PF LeBron James had 41 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists… as he approaches the pinnacle of all those statistical categories. C Thomas Bryant was terrible. But bench player C Anthony Davis had 16 points with 10 rebounds and 4 assists. When Anthony is cleared for more minutes these close games will be easy wins. There are teams interested in C Thomas Bryant when he becomes a free agent in the offseason… good luck losers! Thomas Braynat is a pro basketball player and a fine person.. But if you pay him more than the minimum it’s your funeral…all his stats this year have been built on a frontline that had LeBron James.
The Brooklyn Nets have also only won 4 of their last 10 games… but before SF Kevin Durant left the team with injury he had gotten them to a brief spot in first place… so the resulting fall hasn’t entirely killed them yet. In their last game the Nets won over the New York Knicks 122-115 for a big win against the small spread. In the win PG Kyrie Irving killed it with 32 points, 6 rebounds, and 9 assists. He was supported by the rest of the starting five who all had 13 points or better. C Nic Claxton brought light to his talents by putting up 13 points, 12 assists and 3 BIG BLOCKS.

Los Angeles Lakers VS Brooklyn Nets Prediction
Our prediction for Monday, January 30th is…. Lakers 130 - Nets 111
This will be a Lakers blow out. Bet on the Lakers. WHY? Because they will be steaming form the Celtics loss, but more importantly they will have both Rui Hachimura and Anthony Davis in the fold… Those two gu=ys will supplant the 2nd and 3rd best players on the team.. Expanding what everyone on the roster needs to do. That expansion will allow the Lakers to do so much more and be so much more. This game is the start of much better (depending on injury).

Players To Watch
Lakers: PF LeBron James. Watch no one else when you watch a Lakers game. He is the NBA’s best over the last 2 decades AND the best of all time. You will tell your grandkids you saw him play years after everyone has acknowledged he is better than Michael Jordan.
Nets: SF Joe Harris. Harris missed a year and is most suited to play the SG spot. Him being out of position is why the Lakers should be your bet. This guy is a Great Shooter but will not be able to play competent defense.
COACH
Lakers: Darvin “I’m a guy” Ham
Nets: Jacque “perennial assistant makes good” Vaughn
